I am extremely concerned about our healthcare system and how it affects the patients and constituents of Ostomy 2-1-1 and the District you represent.

Competitive bidding on the hospital level makes it possible (almost forces) medical staff to use product on a patient that is NOT based on what is best for the patient – it is what brand won the contract.   This is too often NOT what is best for our patients, and I would like to see that changed.

In Oklahoma, a nurse does not have to possess any type of special training, skills, nor certification to call them self an “Ostomy” nurse.  I would like to be a part of changing this for the betterment of our patients and other constituents.

I have ideas that I would like to share with you if you have time to visit with me.  Can we make that happen?
