Skin Irritations

These are home remedies, submitted by people, not doctors.
They are from personal experience, and should not be taken as medical advice…
Nothing is a one-size-fits-all, but you may get some ideas (that work) from sharing ideas.

Some of these things, although they help to heal sore, irritated skin, have to be applied, let sit, then rinsed off before a wafer will stick to the skin.

Calomine lotion – let it dry before applying the wafer.  In fact, if you have some medical adhesive, put it over the dried lotion before applying the wafer.

Cornstarch – dust some on and let it sit for a bit if you can.  If your output doesn’t allow to leave things uncovered, dust some on like you would use stoma powder, but put some skin barrier or medical adhesive over it before attempting to apply the wafer.

Head and Shoulders Shampoo

Liquid Bandaid has been said to create a good surface for adhesives to stick to, but my personal experience is that it burns on sore skin.

Maalox – let it dry before applying the wafer.  In fact, if you have some medical adhesive, put it over the dried maalox before applying the wafer.

Mylanta
